New experience

I
should have posted this earlier, but due to
my laziness and the lack of time I’m posting this now. Okay, so while my
other friends from JS made it to the YPC in Klang, I was sent off to the camp I
was talking about earlier.

Sent
off but not exactly forced by my parents, just that I didn’t have my say on
whether I was interested or not. Well, at any rate the camp was a new and interesting experience.
Basically it’s the first time in my whole life that I attended an ‘all Indians
camp’. The camp was organized by the Indian pastors, so obviously the campers
were all from one Tamil congregation or the other . Uh, well, all but me. The
theme of the camp was ‘Time to Rise’, which I personally found to be
quite
relevant especially after my experience in JS. I have no idea how I ended up
there but it was nice for a change. I think its safe enough to say that the
camp changed my perception on some things (and certain people for that
matter..) Learnt a bunch of stuff there about God (duh!) and…lets say life and
how to live a successful life.

Highlight
of the camp was the fact that throughout the 3-day camp, I had difficulty
worshipping God during worship. I only knew, like, one song from ALL the Tamil
songs that was sung. I didn’t even know most of the lyrics to that one Tamil
song. *haiz* Man! Seriously , it wasn’t fun not being able to sing and worship
God when EVERY other person was lost in worship for the One who deserves it. I
couldn’t even get into the ‘praying mode’ without being distracted. But it was
quite nice to hear people praying out loud in Tamil, especially people of my
age..;D
I think the other memorable part is that
thanks to this camp, I tried to pray for my food in Tamil. It was
not exactly
easy, don’t ask me why. But I did it!! ^^ I sound silly, I know. But it was the
first time I prayed to God in Tamil after more than 10 years, I think. Hehe. I
thought of the time when Joel So was sitting with me for lunch(if I’m not
mistaken, it was lunch) and I
reminded him to pray, since he kept forgetting to do that during JS, and he
took his time praying. So when he was done, he said
“Yes, I did it” I asked him
why he took extra time and what he accomplished, when he answered saying that
he prayed in Chinese for the first time so that’s why the prayer was longer…
à
sweet memory that
taught me a lesson. I can still pray to God in my own mother tongue. I just
need to practise doing that. Oh, yeah. I also remember the time when Jeremiah
prayed for me on my birthday in JS…and he did it in Tamil. Another sweet memory
from JS..!=)
Sitting
around and reminiscing about JS and the people helps me bring random, memorable
experience back to the surface. So its fresh and remembered…

THANK
YOU LORD FOR JEREMIAH SCHOOL 2011!!
